Why is 2027 considered a 'clash' year for those born in 1985?

Because the 2027 earthly branch is 未 (Goat), which directly clashes (chong) with the 1985 earthly branch 丑 (Ox), per classical Chinese calendrical convention.

What does 'Sea Metal' (海中金) signify for a 1985 Ox native in 2027?

Sea Metal denotes the natal element pairing for 1985; in 2027’s Fire Goat year, it suggests resilience through adaptability and strength in stability — not raw force — as traditionally interpreted in almanac texts.

Is the Southwest direction always inauspicious for 1985 Ox natives in 2027?

Yes — the Southwest is the designated Tai Sui (Grand Duke)方位 for 2027, and classical almanac guidance uniformly advises avoiding construction, major renovations, or disruptive activity there for those born in 1985. ---
