Why is 2027 called a 'breaking-the-Grand-Duke' year for 2012 Dragons?

Because the 2012 birth pillar is Ren Chen, and the 2027 year pillar is Ding Wei: the earthly branches Chen and Wei are in the 'breaking' (po) relationship according to classical Chinese calendrical theory.

What does 'Long Flowing Water' (Chang Liu Shui) signify for a 2012 Dragon in 2027?

As the native nayin, Long Flowing Water denotes a temperament inclined toward persistence and adaptability; in 2027, it resonates with the year’s Heavenly River Water nayin, suggesting stability beneath surface fluctuations.

How does the Ding Wei year’s 'Three Killings' direction affect 2012 Dragons?

The Three Killings occupy the West in 2027; classical almanac convention advises avoiding major initiations—such as signing agreements or launching competitions—in that direction during the third lunar month. ---
