The 'Daochang' refers to a religious ritual activity in Taoist temples where Taoist priests set up altars and perform rituals, as well as submit petitions. It is the most important component of Taoist doctrine and cultural activities. The term 'Daochang' has two meanings: (1) Any place where Taoists build temples, set up altars, and conduct rituals for the benefit of people can be called a 'Daochang', which is a broad sense. (2) A specific religious and cultural ceremony held by temples on designated days to pray for blessings and good fortune is also called a 'Daochang', which is a narrow sense.
